Fans of the popular farming and RPG series, Rune Factory, were excited when they found out that a new entry in the series was in development. The game, Rune Factory 5, was released on Nintendo 3DS in Japan last year and has since been localized for release in North America and Europe. However, some players have noticed an Easter egg that seems to be referencing a popular meme. The Easter egg is located in the game’s second town, which is called “Runeville”. When players first enter the town, they will see a sign that reads “Bath time!” This is a reference to a popular meme called “bath time for memes” which features people taking baths or showers with various pop culture references. In Rune Factory 5, the bath time reference is specifically to the character named “Wendy” who takes a bath with references to Rick and Morty and Game of Thrones. While some players find this Easter egg amusing, others are concerned that it could be offensive to those who do not enjoy pop culture references. Regardless of whether or not fans find this Easter egg funny or offensive, it is clear that developers put a lot of thought into creating it. ..

The Bathing areas in the Blue Moon Inn are split between the Men’s Baths and Women’s Baths. If you try to enter the opposite bath, you’ll be stopped with a text box that indicates how many times you’ve tried to enter the wrong bath and a corresponding title.

Note: This will work even when the baths are unoccupied.

Warning: Spend your SEED Points before attempting this. Every time you try to enter the wrong bath, your SEED Points will be deducted depending on the title.

Does This Easter Egg Matter?

If you want a little light-hearted humor and have SEED Points to waste, by all means go ahead and attempt this.

Otherwise, there’s no in-game advantage to going into the wrong bath.

Note: A similar ‘wrong bath’ Easter egg appeared in Rune Factory 4 as well.
